In this verse, Jesus says that his message (word) is the same as God’s Word. If we hear his word, believe and live in accordance with, we have eternal life.  Eternal life isn’t just human life that lasts forever. It’s the very life of God himself. Therefore the words of Jesus are God’s Word. When the judgment comes, we who believe will not be condemned for our sins. Jesus took them all on him on the cross, and defeated death, hell and the grave when he rose from the dead. His sacrifice removes all of our sin. He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
Jesus is talking about unsaved people who are physically alive but spiritually "dead" When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior and is born again; they receive eternal life, and are actually passed from death into everlasting life. The Bible says that we are all dead in our sins, until we are born again by faith in Jesus Christ and then we are made alive by the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 2: 4-6 says “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,  made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved”."   God has given us a clear picture, what happen those who are not believing God’s words during the final  judgment , let us read Revelation 20:11-15 “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.  And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.  The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.  Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.  Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”
Now we are observing great Lent. This is the time to clean our self and pray to get the everlasting life along with God.
